Washrooms Built For Volume
London Stansted moves millions of passengers a year, and its washrooms take that traffic every day. BioCarbon Laminates solid grade laminate was specified for the toilet cubicles, IPS panels and vanity units, giving the airport surfaces that stand up to constant use, luggage knocks and standing moisture. The 12.5mm panels are through-colour and decorative on both sides, so doors, pilasters and divisions read the same from either face.

Project Overview
Solid grade laminate is engineered for exactly this environment. The surface is impervious to water, so panels will not warp or swell in a humid washroom, and impact resistance is rated to a large ball drop height of at least 1800mm. Anti-bacterial and anti-microbial protection is built into the surface, and cleaning needs nothing beyond standard washroom products. Colour runs through the core, so a scuff or a cut edge shows the same colour rather than a dark line.

Origin Collection panels come as 12.5mm through-colour SGL in sheet sizes up to 4200 x 1860mm, machine cleanly for cubicle hardware and carry a B-s2,d0 fire rating at 12mm and above, with B-s1,d0 available on request — the kind of detail that matters in a terminal building.
