Geometry in full scale
Sherborne Fields School in Coventry presented a demanding cladding brief: a bold, playful facade that could bring energy and identity to an educational building without compromising on durability or long-term performance. The design called for an interlocking pattern of diagonal triangular panels across multiple elevations, each cut from full-size Trespa® Meteon sheets across six carefully selected decors. Performance Panels fabricated every panel in-house, delivering a complete, installation-ready system that brought the architect's vision precisely to life.

Project Overview
Sherborne Fields School is a special educational needs school serving children and young people in Coventry. The new building required a facade that reflected the school's identity, vibrant, welcoming, and distinct from the institutional aesthetic that often characterises SEN provision. The design team chose to achieve this through a large-scale geometric pattern, using the cladding itself as the visual language of the building rather than relying on signage or applied decoration.

Trespa® Meteon is one of the most capable facade materials available, but realising complex geometric designs requires more than sourcing the right board. It requires precision fabrication, material intelligence, and the capability to convert flat sheets into complex shapes at volume. Performance Panels holds full in-house fabrication capability for Trespa® Meteon. Every panel for this project was cut, processed, and quality-checked at our facility before being delivered ready for direct installation. No secondary fabricator, no lead-time uncertainty, no compromises on tolerances.
