Project Overview
Built For A Regius Chair
As part of the Queen's 90th Birthday celebrations, the University of Liverpool was awarded the rare and respected Regius Chair, recognising exceptional teaching and research in Chemistry. To welcome the new Regius Professor and his team, the university commissioned a cutting-edge laboratory to match. Our long-standing customer APMG Ltd, with over 80 years' experience designing high-quality laboratory furniture, manufactured the bespoke fitted furniture. Its sister company Clean Air Ltd designed and manufactured the 21 advanced technology fume cupboards.

Demanding Chemistry. Uncompromising Surfaces.
Project Overview
Chemistry environments are among the most demanding, so material selection for the worktops was critical to delivering the future-proof laboratory the university required. Trespa® TopLab® PLUS was specified for the worktops of the lab's four main bays and for the fume cupboard baffles, a range suited to spaces where hygiene, contamination control, sustainability and ergonomics all matter. Manufactured using Trespa's in-house Electron Beam Curing technology, it delivers a smooth, closed surface structure with high resistance to aggressive chemicals and cleaning agents.
Our Capabilities
Tested. Certified. Trusted.
Trespa® TopLab® PLUS is cured with high-energy electrons at a controlled rate, producing a smooth, closed surface structure. The result is high resistance to aggressive chemicals and cleaning agents, durability and impact resistance, scratch and wear resistance, high dimensional stability, easy cleaning and suitability for contact with food. Chemical resistance is verified against 24-hour SEFA-3 testing, the international benchmark specifiers use to evidence a safe laboratory environment.
