Highlights from Lab Innovations 2023

Showcasing Trespa® TopLab® at the UK’s only trade show for the entire laboratory industry. 

On Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd November we exhibited at Lab Innovations 2023, at the NEC, Birmingham. 

Following the success of last year’s exhibition, we returned to the meeting place for the UK’s laboratory industry with our partner Trespa.  

Our state of the art stand, produced specifically for this event with UK lab professionals in mind, showcased the complete Trespa® TopLab® range. 

We enjoyed connecting face-to-face, sharing our knowledge of Trespa’s scientific surface solutions, and enabling visitors with the opportunity to get hands-on with the Trespa® TopLab® range. 

Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN 

At this event, we shone a spotlight on Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN, a material that was shortlisted for the ‘Best Sustainable Product’ category at this year’s Lab Awards. 

Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN is a revolutionary compact high pressure laminate (HPL), setting a new standard for laboratory and cleanroom materials. With an innovative bio-based core containing up to 85% renewable materials, it provides the market with a more sustainable worktop solution, without compromising performance or durability. 

As a UK Premium Partner of Trespa® TopLab®, we’re pleased to share that we are transitioning all of our Trespa® TopLab® PLUS orders to the next generation of the Trespa® TopLab® range, Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN. 

With this update to our UK Stocking Programme, we are now offering Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN with an enhanced colour palette, featuring the traditional, neutral colours of Trespa® TopLab® PLUS along with three new contemporary shades. The entire collection of colours will include the innovative biobased core, at no additional cost. 

Trespa® TopLab® VERTICAL 

A new feature to this year’s exhibition stand was the Allface TV800 system. At Lab Innovations 2023 we revealed this concealed mechanical fixing system, specifically designed for use with Trespa® TopLab® VERTICAL panels to the UK. 

Trespa® TopLab® VERTICAL is a visually appealing, durable, high-pressure compact laminate (HPL) designed for interior wall cladding solutions. Manufactured using Trespa’s proprietary Electron Beam Curing (EBC) technology ensuring superior surface performance, Trespa® TopLab® VERTICAL offers an attractive and reliable solution for enhancing interior walls. 

The bespoke pairing brings to market an all-in-one solution with outstanding performance, longevity, and ease of use.

By having a dedicated team of Performance Panels and Trespa representatives at the event, we were on hand to offer support and guidance on the Trespa® TopLab® range.  

As well as engaging with the team on our stand, visitors had the opportunity to book in person 1:1 to slots with our Sales Director Cliff Sullivan and Trespa’s Joe Crawford, Regional Sales Manager Scientific UK & Ireland, utilising the Lab Innovations 2023 app.  

Live Lab Presentation 

On the first day of the exhibition, our colleagues from Trespa, Joe Crawford, Regional Sales Manager UK and Hailey Holloway, Territory Manager UK, delivered a presentation ‘No Planet B’ on the ‘Live Lab’ stage. 

With sustainability continuing to be an important topic within laboratory design, this was a must see presentation.  

No Planet B generates discussion around the importance functionality and sustainability play when selecting high-performing surfaces for laboratory and clean room applications, while introducing TopLab® PLUS ALIGN - a revolutionary worksurface with an innovative bio-based core containing up to 85% renewable materials, providing the market with a more sustainable worktop solution for laboratories and cleanrooms, without compromising performance or durability. 

Sustainability and Innovation Trails 

Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN featured as part of the “Sustainability Trail” as well as TopLab® VERTICAL being included on the “Innovation Trail”. 

This was where the event organisers provided visitors with regular live tours around the exhibition stopping off at stands that had been recognised for displaying sustainable and innovative products. 

Lab Awards 2023 

On the evening of Wednesday 1st November, we attended the Lab Awards at the Vox Conference Venue in Birmingham, alongside members of Trespa UK and our group holding company See Limited.  

Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN was shortlisted for the 'Best Sustainable Product' category at the awards ceremony. 

The evening provided a great opportunity to reflect on our successes as a collaborative team exhibiting at Lab Innovations 2023 as well as our partnership and common interest in providing a scientific surface solution addressing the issue of environmental care to UK lab professionals.
